Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a part-time capacity. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents and contributing to the overall success of our care home.
Key Responsibilities- Resident Care: Ensure that resident care is provided in accordance with established nursing standards, principles, and administrative policies. Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents, and report any changes to the Director of Care.
- Care Planning: Assist in assessing residents and developing, implementing, and evaluating resident care plans. Monitor residents' health and note any changes in condition, and assess the need for referral to doctors.
- Team Leadership: Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit. Orient and train new personnel, and participate in in-service education.
- Facility Preparation: Assist in preparing the facility for RAI MDS.
- Leadership: Take charge of the facility in the absence of the Director of Care, and staff replacement in the absence of the care clerk.
- Certification: Hold a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Registration: Be registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Experience: Previous managerial experience in long-term care is preferred, as is experience dealing with cognitively impaired residents.
- Knowledge: Possess comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, including infection control practices.
- Skills: Demonstrate a commitment to working with seniors, and possess the ability to work effectively individually and with others while prioritizing tasks to handle the most urgent first.
