Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Payroll Specialist, the Payroll Specialist is tasked with managing the complete payroll cycle for over 1200 employees, addressing payroll inquiries, interpreting and applying payroll regulations, and executing best practices.

Location and Employment Type

  • Full-time, permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire payroll process for a multi-jurisdictional payroll system.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and provincial regulations concerning payroll taxes, deductions, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with various departments, employees, and management to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of company payroll policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all regulations, employment laws, and other requirements pertinent to payroll execution.

Qualifications

  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) Certification
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a comparable role
  • Thorough understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations (T4's, ROE's, EHT, PIER, etc.)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with payroll software
