Job Title: Compensation Specialist

Plains Midstream Canada ULC is seeking a highly skilled Compensation Specialist to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our Total Rewards team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our compensation and benefits programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and administration of our compensation and benefits programs
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on compensation and benefits matters to HR and the broader organization
  • Lead and participate in the design and implementation of key compensation, retirement savings, and benefit projects and initiatives
  • Conduct market assessments, analyze trends, and make recommendations through research and peer networking
  • Prepare complex modeling, analyses, and reports to present as the subject-matter expert
  • Participate on and support the Retirement Savings Plan Governance Committee
  • Manage the closed DB and DC pension plans for annual compliance
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field with a minimum of 5-8 years of compensation experience
  • CCP designation, or in the process of completion, is an asset
  • A CPHR designation, or in the process of completion, is an asset
  • Familiarity with a variety of compensation processes and programs
  • Experience with benefit, retirement savings, and pension program design and administration
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and solid compensation knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Advanced knowledge of MS applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • HRIS experience required, Workday experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication
