This facility will be established on the site of a former pulp mill and is designed to have a floating storage capacity of 250,000 m3, with an annual production capability of approximately 2.1 million tons of LNG.

Position Summary:
Woodfibre LNG is in search of a Project Director who will report directly to the Vice President - Projects. This role entails being the primary point of accountability for the comprehensive management of the Woodfibre LNG Project, which spans multiple geographical locations, including international sites. The Project Director will engage extensively with internal regulatory and environmental teams, EPC Contractors, and external stakeholders such as equity partners and financial institutions. This senior-level position demands a project management professional with a proven track record in overseeing large-scale gas projects exceeding $1 billion from the Owner's perspective. The ideal candidate will possess strategic decision-making capabilities and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The primary work location will be in Squamish, with required business travel to various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Director, your main responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all facets of EPC project execution, including Safety, Engineering, Quality, Project Controls, Risk Management, Procurement, Contracts, Logistics, and Materials Management.
- Ensuring compliance with the EPC Contract and other legal and commercial agreements.
- Monitoring the performance of the EPC Contractor, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement with Equity Partners, LNG Offtakers, and internal teams.
- Directly managing the execution of the Owner's scope, including temporary marine facilities and external substations.
- Providing comprehensive reporting on EPC activity performance to stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing project-specific plans, protocols, and procedures.
- Incorporating lessons learned throughout all project phases.
- Supervising team members through effective coaching, delegation, and performance monitoring.
- Recruiting additional resources to ensure successful project execution.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Over 20 years of experience in major capital projects within the oil and gas sector, holding key roles in project management, controls, engineering, and construction.
- Direct oversight of complex, large-scale oil and gas projects exceeding $1 billion executed by a tier 1 EPC Contractor.
- A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience managing diverse, multicultural teams across various international locations.
- Experience with various contracting strategies, including lump sum turnkey and reimbursable contracts.
- Experience in LNG projects.
- Familiarity with Canadian oil and gas projects.
- Knowledge of BC and Canadian regulatory requirements.
- Experience working on the owner's team.
- Championing HSSE across the project.
- Establishing a high-performance safety culture.
- Expertise in planning, scheduling, and executing project activities.
- Ownership of project risks and mitigation strategies.
