About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at A&W. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items
  • Short order cooking and food preparation
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment where you will be standing for extended periods and working under pressure. You will be part of a team that is client-focused, with excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, and a willingness to work as a team player.

Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work as a team player
