Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at A&W. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for determining the size of food portions and costs, planning menus and estimating food requirements, and requisitioning food and kitchen supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items
  • Short order cooking and food preparation
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods and working under pressure. You will be required to maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Excellent oral communication skills
