Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Canadian immigration law and will provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in matters related to immigration, including visa applications, permanent residency, citizenship, refugee claims, and appeals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in immigration matters
  • Conduct legal research and stay current with changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including applications, petitions, briefs, and affidavits
  • Represent clients in hearings, interviews, and proceedings before immigration authorities and tribunals
  • Advise clients on legal rights and obligations, and develop strategies to address their specific immigration needs
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure efficient case management and support
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of legal processes and case status updates
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience practicing immigration law is preferable
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian immigration law, including regulations and procedures is preferable
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present legal arguments clearly and persuasively
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
