Your Opportunity

BDO Law's Immigration Practice is seeking a highly skilled US Business Immigration Attorney to provide immigration legal advice and representation in a growing and dynamic immigration legal practice. As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of non-immigrant and immigrant immigration matters, with a focus on economic/business class applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in a wide range of NIV and IV immigration matters, including visa applications and citizenship proceedings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage client business needs and mitigate risks associated with immigration laws and regulations.
  • Advise clients and employees on changes in immigration laws, regulations, and impacts on their business operations.
  • Analyze legal issues to develop and implement effective legal and application strategies.
  • Research statutes and case law to stay up-to-date on the latest immigration laws and regulations.
  • Prepare clients for immigration interviews and/or port of entry applications, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed.
  • Prepare, supervise, and monitor progress of immigration, visa, and citizenship applications, as well as drafting key documents.
  • Assist clients in preparing and obtaining documentation or information required for applications.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor paralegals and caseworkers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support the team.

Requirements

  • You will have 3+ years of relevant immigration practice experience.
  • You will be a member in good standing of a US Bar (dual license with US and Canada an asset).
  • You will have strong research and writing skills, with the ability to prepare written correspondence.
  • You will be able to work independently and be passionate about client service.
  • You will be detail-oriented and well-organized, with a strong work ethic and desire to excel.
  • You will be proactive, able to multitask, and effectively handle competing priorities.
  • You will be able to excel in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • You will have excellent motivation to embrace technology trends and IT solutions designed to enhance the client experience.
  • You will have an enthusiasm to manage workflow and processes.
  • You will be a team player, people person, and value kindness.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $104,000 to $156,000.
