About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds;
  • Assemble, move, deliver, set up, and pick up furniture and equipment;
  • Perform general repair work on structures, patch, and paint any damaged walls;
  • Assist the Plant, Building & Safety Manager in the inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment; carry out preventive maintenance program actions;
  • Access the PM Worx program for Preventive Maintenance schedules and to process work orders;
  • Request necessary materials, supplies, parts, and tools required and maintain control of storage and use;
  • Take every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents, and all others in the workplace.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

  • A High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education;
  • 1-2 years' experience in construction or building maintenance;
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation;
  • Advanced Proficiency in English Language;
  • The ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening;
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care.
