Job Overview

Aramark is seeking a seasoned Food Service Director to lead our team at a small English University in Quebec. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for managing and developing a diverse team to deliver exceptional services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor teams to maximize their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance.
  • Develop and maintain a culture focused on safety, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
  • Build revenue and manage budget, including cost controls with regard to food, beverage, and labor.
  • Develop and implement operational programs, ensuring scope of work is followed and gaps are reported to district management.
  • Establish and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships.
  • Identify client needs and effectively communicate operational progress.
  • Adopt and implement Aramark processes and systems.
  • Build and develop supervisory staff to become future leaders.
  • Deliver sustainability goals as they pertain to food services.
  • Comply with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including those relating to safety, health, wage and hour.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree level education highly preferred in an area of Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management.
  • Meaningful experience in restaurant, contract services, retail, and catering.
  • Strong analytical and project planning skills.
  • Proven ability with financial literacy skills, including labor cost, inventory control, and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory issues, such as WHMIS, OH&S, and infection control.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, colleagues, and staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build and establish internal and external relationships at all levels of the organization, including senior levels of management.
  • Positive attitude and genuine customer focus orientation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
