Role Overview: As the Bilingual Sales Director for Canada at Telesat, you will play a crucial role in driving business expansion within our innovative Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. Your primary responsibility will be to formulate and implement effective sales strategies, cultivate a strong customer base, and generate revenue from LEO satellite communication products and services, with a focus on government entities, their agencies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and enterprise clients. Your ultimate aspiration is to advance to the position of Canadian Regional Director of Sales, overseeing sales operations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate, communicate, and implement persuasive sales strategies for LEO and GEO services, specifically targeting government and enterprise sectors.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape, channel dynamics, and environmental factors to ensure our proposals remain high-value and compelling.
  • Serve as the enthusiastic advocate for Telesat's LEO services, articulating the unique value proposition of our Lightspeed capabilities.
  • Promote the Telesat brand with passion and conviction.
  • Engage potential customers proactively through cold-calling, lead generation, and follow-ups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering trust and credibility.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align with Telesat's overarching business strategy.
  • Participate actively in strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, resource allocation, and reporting.
  • Prepare persuasive presentation materials, including corporate overviews and service highlights.
  • Educate prospective customers about our comprehensive suite of services, encompassing both LEO and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) offerings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to nurture a high-performance culture.
  • Champion teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience with a proven track record in sales, preferably within the satellite communication sector.
  • Passion: A strong belief in the transformative potential of LEO technology.
  • Communication: Fluently bilingual with exceptional verbal and written communication skills (Required).
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and nurture strong customer relationships at all levels, including C-suite executives.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset with the ability to adapt to a dynamic market environment.
  • Leadership Aspiration: A desire to grow into a leadership role as the Regional Canadian Director of Sales.
