About the Opportunity:
The Senior Project Manager will report to the Manager, Guideline Resource Unit within the Provincial Systems, Programs and Performance portfolio, Cancer Care Alberta. This position will provide senior project management for provincial cancer diagnosis pathways and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee project plans and knowledge translation strategies to ensure successful implementation of initiatives provincially and within Cancer Care Alberta and Primary Care.
- Establish plans that address unnecessary variation in care delivery.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks to influence and change practice.
- Synthesize evidence to inform approaches and strategies that optimize care and resource utilization across facilities and programs.
Leadership and Collaboration:
The Senior Project Manager is a provincial position that leads and ensures engagement of various stakeholders, including patients and families, public/community groups, clinicians, operations, and researchers. Projects are complex, spanning multiple AHS departments, and will involve external stakeholders like Primary Care, community radiology, and the research community.
Project Management Expertise:
The Senior Project Manager applies service design, change management, and process improvement principles to projects/initiatives and uses various tools and models for tracking project/initiative management. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing project charters, preparing business cases, and ensuring strong measurement and evaluation strategies exist.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in business administration, adult education, health care profession, or related field.
- Project management and/or quality improvement certification/designations are an asset, such as Project Management Professional, Lean, Six Sigma, or PROSCI.
- Experience with cancer projects and/or stakeholders.
