POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for offering technical support and training to the maintenance team. Key responsibilities include the upkeep, repair, installation, and ongoing enhancement of equipment within the Canadian Operations facility.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership: Assess training requirements, coordinate technical resources, and facilitate training sessions.
- Machinery Maintenance: Conduct repairs on production machinery, diagnose equipment issues, and suggest replacement parts.
- Equipment Setup: Aid in equipment transitions, troubleshoot systems, and execute general electrical diagnostics.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing practices, engage in equipment installations, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Health & Safety: Actively identify safety risks, comply with EH&S regulations, and engage in safety initiatives.
- Housekeeping: Ensure a tidy work environment and support the 5S Program.
Minimum Education: High school diploma, with additional technical training preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years in a comparable position.
Language: Proficient in English.
Certifications: Millwright or electrician certification is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
