Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Electek Industrial Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electromechanical equipment, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
  • Wind, assemble and install various types of coils
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
  • Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts
  • Perform on-site servicing and repair
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance

Work Environment: This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to lift heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work in a team environment
