We are excited to announce a new role for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) within our Medical Affairs division. In this dynamic position, you will cultivate and strengthen relationships while enhancing our scientific credibility with both established and emerging external experts (EEs). Our MSLs are tasked with addressing inquiries by delivering essential scientific and medical information to external experts and internal stakeholders. This role encompasses the regions of BC and Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and sustain critical scientific knowledge to enable credible communication of information to external experts (EEs) and other healthcare professionals (HCPs), fostering professional relationships.
  2. Engage in and monitor assigned investigator-initiated studies (IIS), clinical trials, and medical initiatives within the relevant therapeutic area (TA).
  3. Provide scientific assistance and maintain relationships with external experts and academic institutions.
  4. Deliver credible presentations on scientific topics to HCPs, both individually and in group settings.
  5. Participate in the selection process to identify qualified HCPs for collaborative opportunities, ensuring high standards of scientific and educational integrity in these partnerships.
  6. Attend pertinent scientific meetings and conferences, compiling summaries of significant data presented.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:

  1. Doctorate, MD, or MSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline with demonstrated experience.
  2. Relevant professional experience with a solid understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
  3. Preferred prior experience as an MSL or in a customer-facing role within the healthcare industry, including experience in presenting and interpreting scientific or clinical research publications.
  4. Knowledge of scientific methodologies applied to clinical research and current legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  5. Strong interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area/product and medical research in general.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  1. Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
  2. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  3. Comfortable with technology and adept at using various tools and systems for daily tasks.
  4. Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  5. Possession of a valid driver's license and passport.

Key In-Field Team (IFT) Competencies:

  1. Ability to comprehend the unmet needs of key stakeholders, make impactful decisions, and integrate that information into the IFT's engagement strategy.
  2. Capability to coordinate scientific and medical engagement efforts across stakeholders within a single account, developing interaction plans aligned with the Scientific Interaction Plan (SIP) to achieve medical objectives.
  3. In-depth understanding and execution of effective strategies and data-driven business decisions to surpass IFT business goals.
  4. Effective communication and collaboration skills, incorporating the perspectives of other in-field team members to optimize business objectives.
