About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join our team at Acosta. As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' merchandising initiatives and building strong relationships with store managers and department heads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Merchandising Execution: Ensure accurate and timely execution of planograms and instructions provided.
  • Effective Scheduling: Plan and organize store visits on assigned territories.
  • Communication: Ensure supervisors (and support team, if applicable) are informed of work schedule as needed.
  • Continuous Learning: Attend mandatory online and in-field training sessions.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain positive relationships with key contacts in stores.
  • Reporting: Complete visit reports, including daily data submissions and photos of completed tasks (using production reporting technology via a portable device).
  • Flexibility: Manage visits in various large retail stores and grocery stores (e.g., Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, Best Buy, Canadian Tire, Loblaws, etc.).
Requirements
  • Merchandising Experience: While preferred, not essential; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Attention to Detail: Execute planogram changes with precision.
  • Organizational Skills: Perform multiple tasks efficiently and meet all deadlines.
  • Physical Abilities: Our team frequently works in grocery store environments that may require moving large fixtures and displays, as well as unpacking various grocery products. The ideal candidate must be able to lift 30-50 pounds, bend, kneel, and stretch for extended periods.
  • Enthusiasm: Energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and open to change as our team grows and accepts diverse clients. It is essential to apply prior merchandising experience to new clients' initiatives.
  • Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Availability: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Regional Travel: Comfortable with occasional travel within the territory (up to 60 minutes).
  • Technophile: Proficient in using mobile devices and capturing high-quality photos of completed work.
