Infinity-Pacific Stewardship Group (IPSG), a leading entity in integrated Forest Management, is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Forest Professional. This position is integral to our coastal division.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborating with a team of Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs) on diverse forestry initiatives.
- Creating and assessing site plans both in-field and within the office environment, including the evaluation of professional reports and constraints for proposed developments.
- Drafting silviculture prescriptions tailored to specific project needs.
- Interpreting and executing plans in alignment with BC Forestry Legislation, Regulations, and established best practices.
- Overseeing projects to meet budgetary and deliverable objectives.
- Formulating landscape-level management strategies for small tenure holders, including forest stewardship and resource retention plans.
- Implementing and supervising silviculture operations, such as planting and brushing activities.
- Supporting area managers and lead engineers with cutblock layout and design in the field.
- Active membership with the ABCFP as an RPF, RFT, FIT, or TFT.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in site planning, silviculture prescription writing, and managing forestry projects.
- Possession of a valid BC Driver's License.
- Field experience in various weather conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong technical report writing and editing capabilities.
- Commitment to safety practices.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Experience in coastal cutblock and road design.
- Familiarity with RESOURCES (Cengea) data system.
- Background in silviculture surveying or timber cruising.
- Knowledge of BC Forestry Legislation and Policy & Practices.
- Experience in ecosystem identification per BC's Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification system.
- Proven ability in developing landscape-level plans and rationales.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
