Job Title: Compensation & Benefits Manager

UniUni (Uni Express Inc.) is a leading Canadian courier for e-commerce and logistics companies. We are seeking an experienced Compensation & Benefits Manager to join our HR team.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in compensation and benefits practices in both the United States and Canada, with a strong background in payroll operations and a solid understanding of North American tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Compensation & Benefits Management:
    • Develop, implement, and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with UniUni's business strategies and goals.
    • Conduct regular benchmarking and market analysis to ensure the competitiveness of compensation and benefits packages.
    • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other perks.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits.
  2. Payroll Operations:
    • Manage payroll processes for both the United States and Canada, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
    • Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure proper reporting and reconciliation of payroll-related accounts.
    • Address payroll inquiries and resolve any payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
  3. Tax Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with North American tax regulations, including federal, state, provincial, and local taxes.
    • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations that impact payroll and benefits administration.
    • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as necessary.
  4. HR Support:
    • Collaborate with HR team members to support talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and other HR functions.
    • Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on compensation and benefits-related matters.
    • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to enhance overall HR service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, with at least 3 years in a similar role covering both the US and Canada.
  • Extensive experience in payroll operations and tax compliance in North America.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and provincial employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and use data to inform decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Compensation and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position ranges from CA$70,000 - CA$80,000. Your actual level and salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
