LOCAL NEWS LIVE - (LNL) is Gray TV's 24/7 national news platform, delivering live coverage from our extensive network of 113 markets. This allows viewers to access stories from across the nation on a single platform, providing national coverage of significant events while offering local insights from journalists embedded in the communities they report on.

Job Overview:

LOCAL NEWS LIVE - (LNL) is seeking a dynamic anchor to lead our 24/7 live national news broadcasts. The ideal candidate possesses a deep passion for journalism, a robust background in storytelling, and a commitment to delivering live, breaking news coverage as well as in-depth reporting on major national stories. We are looking for an anchor who can think quickly, adapt to real-time developments, and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead coverage of breaking news, live events, and newscasts.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to present news content without a script.
  3. Craft headlines and scripts to enhance the overall quality of the broadcast.
  4. Conduct engaging live interviews and discussions with newsmakers and guests, utilizing thorough research and knowledge of relevant topics.
  5. Collaborate with producers to create and deliver compelling news segments.
  6. Manage rapidly changing information for presentation in a live, unscripted setting.
  7. Support producers in newsgathering, preparation for live broadcasts, and resource acquisition.

Qualifications:

  1. A degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.
  2. A minimum of three years of experience as a news anchor at a television station.
  3. Experience in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration.
  4. Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, BitCentral, and digital content management systems is advantageous.
  5. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging a diverse audience.
