Your Role
To excel in this position, you will bring extensive experience in leading projects and showcase a diverse portfolio that varies in scope and complexity, particularly in project delivery focused on building and facility projects within institutional, healthcare, and educational settings. Ideally, you will have experience as an owner's representative or within a professional services context across various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client's strategic objectives.
- Oversee a program of work and large-scale capital projects, which vary in size, scope, and complexity.
- Ensure that client expectations are consistently met or surpassed on all projects, representing the client's best interests concerning contractual and technical matters.
- Facilitate client and project meetings while managing multiple stakeholders and communication channels.
- Provide regular updates on project status through schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records, and other reports.
- Offer guidance and leadership in the change management process, payment certifications, and other contract or project-related administrative documents.
- Supervise the management of project-related documents and ensure all work aligns with our Quality Management System and procedures.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience as a Project Leader, representing owners in the execution of building development and capital improvement projects for educational and other institutional clients, including municipal and social infrastructure.
- A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
- Profound knowledge of various design and construction methodologies, project management frameworks, and financial management, as well as building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation.
- Advanced understanding of Project Management methodologies.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, combined with the ability to effectively influence others and resolve a variety of client and technical challenges.
- A proven track record of delivering projects from the concept development phase through to occupancy and warranty reviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
- ASP card.
- P. Eng. or PMP designation would be an asset; other designations are also welcome.
