About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Assistant to join our team at Hampton Village Child Care Ltd. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our children and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweeping and Mopping: Ensure all hallways, floors, and stairs are clean and free of debris.
  • Trash and Recycling: Empty trash cans and recycling bins throughout the facility.
  • Window and Surface Cleaning: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment's equipment and facilities.
  • Security and Safety: Perform regular safety and security checks to ensure the well-being of our children and staff.
  • Heavy Lifting: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a pleasant outdoor environment.
  • Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Weather Conditions: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas as needed.

  • Physical Demands: The role requires repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding activities.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) as needed.
