Job Summary:

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a research position in sociolinguistics. The successful candidate will have a strong background in linguistics and sociolinguistics, with a focus on language functions and social structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in sociolinguistics, with a focus on language functions and social structure
  • Develop and implement research projects, including data collection and analysis
  • Collaborate with faculty members and other researchers on research projects
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics and sociolinguistics

Requirements:

  • Completed or ongoing Ph.D. in linguistics with a specialization in sociolinguistics
  • Strong background in linguistics and sociolinguistics, with a focus on language functions and social structure
  • Excellent research and teaching skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
