Course Overview

The University of Ottawa is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on Issues in Bilingualism from a sociolinguistic and/or cognitive perspective. This course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of bilingualism and its impact on individuals and society.

Course Objectives

  • To understand the sociolinguistic and cognitive aspects of bilingualism
  • To analyze the impact of bilingualism on individuals and society
  • To develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the context of bilingualism

Responsibilities

  • Teach a course on Issues in Bilingualism
  • Develop and implement course materials and assessments
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students
  • Stay current with developments in the field of bilingualism and linguistics

Requirements

  • M.A. in linguistics, with relevant specialization
  • Experience in teaching and research in bilingualism and linguistics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
