Job Summary:

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Management Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our People Services department, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance on disability prevention and management processes and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of claims management processes and programs, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

• Provide technical and functional guidance to management and staff on policies, procedures, and legislation related to disability management.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address disability management issues, ensuring a proactive and collaborative approach to meet client and department needs.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, leaders, and external contacts, building trust, credibility, and rapport.

• Conduct research and analysis to inform the development of departmental strategies, tools, and administrative directives, ensuring best practices for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Degree in Health Science, Human Resources, Business/Commerce, or a related discipline.

• Five (5) years of experience in Human Resources or a health industry position, preferably within claims management, return to work, and WCB processes.

• Experience with disability claims management and working in a public-sector environment with unionized and non-unionized employees is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTW) certification.

• Specialization in Disability Management.
