Job Summary

This is a full-time role for a Senior Legal Associate at MerGen Law, with flexibility for some remote work.

The Senior Legal Associate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients, conducting legal research, and drafting legal documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of legal matters, specifically Adult Guardianship & Trusteeship, Estate Planning, Estate Administration/Probate, and Corporate and Commercial matters.
  • Conduct legal research using various resources.
  • Draft and review legal documents.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients' interests.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation using practice management and document management software.
  • Manage inquiries assigned and conduct sales and business development activities on behalf of the firm.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Canadian experience in Wills, Estates, Small Business, or Residential Real Estate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Active Alberta Bar membership.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Skills and experience in business development and networking.
