Job Description

Astra North Infoteck Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Management: Ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications by implementing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server RDBMS systems.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and sustain the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness, executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams.
  • Performance Tuning: Utilize native monitoring and troubleshooting tools to optimize database performance and resolve issues in real-time.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL technologies, with primary competency in MySQL (70%). Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certifications: MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
