We are a leading construction company based in Langley, Canada, seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our accounting processes and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements.
Job Summary
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for supervising our Accounts Payable and Receivable teams, assisting with month-end and year-end procedures, and preparing financial statements. You will also assist in budgeting and forecasting activities for ongoing and upcoming projects, supporting our project managers in financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams to ensure efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end procedures, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities for ongoing and upcoming projects, supporting project managers in financial planning.
- Provide support to the Controller and other members of the finance team as needed.
Requirements
- CPA designation preferred.
- Motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented leader with proven work experience in senior accounting, finance, or related field.
- Construction or real estate experience preferred.
- Experience with Sage preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
