About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cement Trainee to join our team at Heidelberg Materials North America. As a Cement Trainee, you will participate in a structured training program designed to provide an overview of the cement plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operations in achieving production goals through partnering with experienced engineers and managers in different departments.
  • Participate in production and maintenance meetings.
  • Learn basic supervisory skills by working side-by-side with supervisors.
  • Complete assigned project work, performance studies.
  • Participate in various training programs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Support the operations in improving plant performance through partnering with experienced engineers and managers in different departments.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Program by suggesting changes in routines, personnel, equipment improvement and process improvement.
  • Follow plant and WorkSafeBC Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protection Equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • Prior manufacturing exposure/experience a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations during training program.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment with 24/7 operations.
