Geotechnical Engineering Principal

Join Our Team: WSP Canada is on the lookout for a dedicated Principal Geotechnical Engineer to enhance our Ground Engineering and Materials Team. This role is pivotal in managing and executing significant projects across various regions. We offer support for relocation and accommodation for candidates interested in joining us.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering professionals on geotechnical consulting assignments;
- Disseminate technical expertise across different regions to promote innovative solutions;
- Lead the preparation of geotechnical assessments and engineering documentation, offering insights on diverse geotechnical factors in projects;
- Provide specialized geotechnical engineering knowledge to assist multi-disciplinary initiatives including infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, and buildings;
- Oversee and direct projects that necessitate geotechnical investigation, prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and support project engineers;
- Identify and analyze geotechnical challenges such as settlement issues, slope stability, and excavation procedures;
- Supervise field operations including monitoring of boreholes and in situ tests, as well as various construction activities;
- Engage in additional tasks as required within the team.
Your Qualifications:
- A degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized institution;
- Eligibility for registration as a professional geotechnical engineer with the relevant governing body;
- A minimum of ten years of pertinent experience in geotechnical or geomechanics engineering;
- Proficiency in standard geotechnical software tools;
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently;
- A proven history of managing projects effectively and within budget;
- Capability to critically assess geotechnical analysis outputs.
