Reports to: Park Manager

The Park Security Officer is tasked with overseeing the daily safety and security of designated parks within a specific region.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

To assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and operational Permit area. To safeguard the Permit area effectively. To perform Collector duties when required. (refer to Collector / Gatehouse job description)

Detailed Responsibilities (but not limited to):

To ensure the Permit Area of the Park is upheld to a superior standard with the necessary tools for effective job performance. To possess knowledge of the Park, its amenities, recreational options, and demonstrate excellent public relations skills while assisting Park visitors. To be well-versed in Park Regulations and communicate them courteously to Park visitors when necessary. To understand emergency protocols and respond to them proficiently. To uphold a high level of Public Safety by advising Park visitors engaging in unsafe practices to cease such activities and intervening before situations escalate. To maintain order and manage noise levels, ensuring that any incidents occurring in the Permit area are accurately documented. To guarantee that emergency vehicle access to and within the Permit Area is preserved at all times. To monitor site capacity and ensure that all vehicles and camping gear remain within designated campsite boundaries. To confirm that only registered campers occupy the Permit Area after designated hours and that all day-use access points are secured at the scheduled time. To handle enforcement matters in a mature and responsible manner.
