Position Summary:

The Business Solutions Expert will be responsible for collaborating with external business customers to define, develop, and implement system requirements. This role will also involve leading the development of training materials and providing training on systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate client requirements into functional documentation and participate in technical designs and test planning
  • Translate project objectives and high-level requirements into detailed system requirements and/or use cases
  • Design, prototype, code, and test new or enhanced applications
  • Provide customer support for the implementation of new or existing applications
  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot problems as necessary
  • Develop and deliver training materials on various products under the Information Systems group
  • Guide process design and implementation in departments external to Information Systems
  • Evaluate new products and services to determine their suitability for use
  • Conduct preliminary research and investigation of software and technologies

Required Experience:

  • University degree or College diploma
  • Workflow design and implementation
  • Scripting experience
  • Strong Excel experience (macros)
  • SQL experience an asset
  • Analyst experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) products an asset
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience composing project documentation (e.g., high-level use cases, detailed business specifications)
  • Translate business needs into creative technical requirements
  • Collaborate across multiple internal teams
  • Demonstrate organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

This position requires 80% travel and 20% support. A reliable vehicle is necessary for this role, and travel will occur across the province of Ontario.
