Key Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse - Obstetrics/Medical/Surgical include:
Deliver comprehensive perinatal nursing care to expectant mothers by performing thorough assessments and providing care to assigned medical/surgical patients, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Enhance the quality of life from the perspective of the patient and their family. Collaborate and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals. Commit to continuous improvement and implement best practices in nursing. Maintain and enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research initiatives as required.About the Community

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of an accredited advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing or a minimum of two years of relevant experience.Knowledge & Skills
Extensive understanding of nursing principles and practices within a patient-centered care model. Familiarity with BCCNM's standards for nursing practice. Proven ability in nursing practice related to the designated patient population. Demonstrated capability to develop and implement care plans. Ability to assess patient responses to care and respond appropriately. Competence in adapting to unexpected situations, problem-solving, prioritizing tasks, and managing conflicts. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, families, colleagues, and external agencies. Ability to educate and counsel patients and their families. Leadership qualities through initiative and independence. Ability to mentor and guide new staff and students. Proficiency in clinical techniques and the use of relevant medical equipment. Skills in CPR and NRP techniques. Competence in using computerized patient care information systems. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Closing Remarks
