Job Summary:

Arcadis is a leading environmental consultancy firm seeking an experienced Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Canada. This role will be based out of our Calgary office and will require 85% travel to sites throughout the region.

About the Role:

This position sits within the Global Resilience Business Area, where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. As an Environmental Field Technician, you will coordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers, including environmental site assessments, risk assessments, and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits and inspections, monitoring and supervising drilling and/or remediation activities, preparing field notes, and collecting soil and groundwater samples.
  • Prepare environmental reports documenting the results of investigation programs.
  • Independently supervise contractors (drillers, daylighters, utility locators, etc.).
  • Maintain knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks.
  • Interpret environmental data and compare sample results to applicable guidelines and standards.

Requirements:

  • Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in soil, groundwater or vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior colleagues, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

CTech or CET or eligibility for P.Eng. or P.Geo. considered an asset.
