Construction Director

Mace is seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead our team on a major rail infrastructure program in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). As a key member of our consult business, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile projects and programs, providing strategic direction and technical expertise to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a construction management division within the Metrolinx organization, overseeing over 50 live rail projects across the GTA.
- Drive a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing excellence, and lead transformation of best-practice construction delivery.
- Proactively engage with delivery directors and vice presidents to review work plans and develop resolutions that benefit the program.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve project delivery, including innovative methods of delivery, technology, and planning.
- Manage client relationships effectively, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and value.
- Collaborate with senior Metrolinx directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the program's objectives.
- Significant experience leading and providing direction to construction and project delivery teams on high-profile and high-value projects.
- Ability to lead, engage, motivate, and coach others, acting as a role model and inspiring and empowering others.
- Leading negotiations with third parties, creating and delivering persuasive presentations to a wide range of audiences.
- Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams, with a detailed understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, and site logistics.
- Commercial and detailed understanding of construction contract law and an understanding of multiple contract types.
- Good oral, written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to stay up-to-date with key industry and professional trends.
