Position: Industry Training Consultant and Business Development Specialist
Salary Range: $59,091.85 to $79,947.80
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)
This pivotal role is integral to the expansion of MITT's Industry Training and Continuing Education programs. The Consultant will spearhead initiatives in business development, community engagement, program design, contract training, consulting services, partnership development, and project oversight. The Consultant is tasked with driving industry-focused program innovation and initiatives, actively pursuing new business and training prospects that lead to significant revenue growth. As a primary external representative of MITT, the individual will employ sound judgment to cultivate trustworthy and impactful relationships with businesses, industries, and community organizations while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct labor market research and analysis to identify target markets and foster business relationships aimed at developing innovative training and revenue strategies.
- Establish and nurture professional connections with businesses, industries, and community organizations in Manitoba to explore, evaluate, and secure training and business opportunities.
- Design and propose new training initiatives for consideration, addressing the needs identified through market research for corporate clients or specific audiences.
- Negotiate and draft training proposals and contracts for new or renewed initiatives with business, industry, and community clients, outlining the scope and costs involved.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Director of Industry Training & Continuing Education on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Conduct formal Return on Investment (ROI) assessments to evaluate the financial feasibility of new training initiatives.
- Build and maintain institutional relationships with local and national business, industry, and community partners.
- Engage with Indigenous community organizations to foster educational partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with Industry Training and Continuing Education team members to ensure effective training and development processes.
- Develop and manage program development and project budgets, ensuring compliance with reporting protocols.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Adult Education, Business, Administration) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in training and development or adult education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of proven success in industry engagement and business development.
- Ability to formulate policies and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Experience in financial accountability and budget management.
- Demonstrated experience in an entrepreneurial setting.
- Strong understanding of training and development principles and adult learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is considered an asset.
- Experience in a post-secondary educational environment is preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record check, including vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check.
