Position Overview
We are in search of a proactive Senior Bookkeeper with expertise in non-profit organizations. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at managing deadlines while striving for excellence. Daily Responsibilities
- Manage complete file ownership, including regular video calls, emails, and meetings to support various back-office functions.
- Conduct quality audits to ensure files surpass quality benchmarks.
- Handle the filing of GST/HST, PSB, GST322, and GST5321.
- Prepare financial statements and oversee staff expenditures.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their back-office requirements, comfortable meeting both virtually and in person.
- Review and maintain Know Your Client (KYC) documentation while implementing necessary process enhancements.
- Evaluate the work of junior staff, providing constructive feedback and training sessions.
- Assist with special project work as needed.
Qualifications Required
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related role, with at least 2 years dedicated to non-profit organizations.
- Post-secondary education from an accredited institution.
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and accounts payable; full-cycle accounting experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks Online.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Experience in supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff.
