POSITION OVERVIEWThe primary objective of this position is to oversee the maintenance team, ensuring that all production and facility equipment operates safely and efficiently, while maximizing uptime and maintaining product quality. The supervisor will focus on minimizing unexpected production downtime, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that all assets are managed at optimal operational levels. Additionally, the role involves supervising housekeeping, 5S initiatives, and lean manufacturing practices to uphold exceptional customer service standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Understand, implement, and advocate for all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Repair production and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain a high level of equipment availability.
- Ensure cleanliness in the work area, adhering to housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, spare parts management, and machine component repairs.
- Conduct repair tasks during unplanned downtime and perform preventive maintenance.
- Train maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
- Support production, shipping, and compounding staff as necessary.
- Collaborate with maintenance management to develop and maintain a critical spare parts inventory.
- Plan and oversee the work of service providers and vendors.
- Foster positive relationships with vendors, production, maintenance, and compounding teams.
- Lead maintenance staff and contractors to ensure safety and productivity.
- Provide coverage for maintenance personnel and supervisors as required.
- Assist with various tasks within the maintenance department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust electrical background, supported by a 309A or 442A license or equivalent electrical education. A solid understanding of millwright principles is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential. Required certifications include working at heights and forklift operation. Flexibility to work during specified hours and willingness to undertake overtime as needed is expected. The most suitable candidate will be selected based on their skills and attributes that align with the role.
