Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Unit Clerk to join our Pulmonary Function team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register patients, obtain and confirm required information, and complete registration documentation.
  • Prioritize and coordinate physician's orders, perform follow-up actions as required, and collaborate with other departments to exchange information.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, complete requisitions, and make follow-up appointments as directed.
  • Compile and assemble patient charts for new admissions, maintain charts, files, and documents, and input patient data into the computer database system.
  • Prepare and escort patients to examination rooms, perform receptionist duties, and provide general information to patients and staff.
  • Perform clerical duties, including data entry, filing, compiling, and preparing statistics, and receive payments from patients.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, deal with others effectively, and operate related equipment.
