Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Nutrition Aide to join our team. As a Nutrition Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our Nutrition Services department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and deliver meal trays to patients, ensuring timely and accurate service.
  • Retrieve, stock, and set up food items and supplies at workstations, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and maintain workstations and tray assembly areas, cold food production, and portioning prepared foods.
  • Prepare snacks and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Wash and clean equipment, and receive groceries as required.
  • Perform cross-functional duties and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Good manual dexterity and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • 6 months of practical experience in a related field.
  • Food Service Worker Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand short notes, brief forms, and memos.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 10 kg and loading/unloading food carts.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner, producing high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment, with the ability to multitask.
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN's Privacy Policy.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN, and departmental policies.
  • Client service-oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate the value of different opinions, backgrounds, and characteristics.
  • Required to work alternating weekends and statutory holidays.
