About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our team at Ranger Design. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing innovative products that meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop new products and product lines, ensuring they meet our design standards and are manufacturable.
  • Supplier Management: Work with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and profitability.
  • Documentation: Create clear and accurate part and assembly drawings, as well as other technical documentation.
  • Product Management: Manage sourced products, including identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and solutions.
  • Launch Coordination: Coordinate the launch of new products, ensuring all steps of the design process are followed.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to support the program manager and other teams.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all new products meet or exceed industry standards and conform to Ranger Design's safety standards.
  • Testing and Validation: Complete and document testing and test-fitting of products to ensure fit, function, and safety conformance.
  • Compliance: Maintain knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the category of each design project.

Requirements:

  • Design Skills: Strong design skills and experience with design software.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management and coordination.
  • Manufacturing Methods: Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Experience with process improvement and optimization.
  • Technical Understanding: Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Documentation Skills: Strong documentation skills and experience with technical writing.
  • Safety Management: Knowledge of safety management principles and practices.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English (bilingualism is an asset).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks and other design software.
  • ERP Knowledge: Knowledge of ERP systems, such as Epicor.
