Job Title: Lead Design Engineer – Montreal QC

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Job Type: Permanent position (full-time)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design innovative products under the supervision of the Engineering Design Manager.
  • Work with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and profitability.
  • Create clear and accurate part and assembly drawings.
  • Manage sourced products.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and solutions.
  • Work with the supply chain and suppliers to develop a solution on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate the launch and ensure all steps of the design process are followed.
  • Support the program manager with technical expertise on designs, time estimates, and products.
  • Ensure product quality control and meet industry standards.
  • Complete and document testing and test-fitting of products.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Maintain and acquire knowledge of safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Design skills.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Project management.
  • Manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Process improvement.
  • Technical understanding.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Safety management.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and French (asset).
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of an ERP system (Epicor, asset).
