About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team at JC's Hot Bagels. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment, and conduct safety and security checks to prevent accidents.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Provide support and training to newcomers and refugees, and offer mentorship and coaching opportunities to Indigenous workers.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication, but we welcome applicants who are fluent in other languages.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a willingness to learn and train is essential.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn on the job.
  • Availability: 30-35 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts.
