We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our team at Northern Health Authority.
Job SummaryThe Environmental Health Officer will be responsible for carrying out a diverse program of environmental health protection, reducing the incidence of communicable disease, injury, and health hazards, and ensuring compliance with environmental health legislation, policy, and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct technical assessments and provide consultative and education services to the public and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement programs to promote environmental health and prevent disease.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to environmental health protection.
- Provide training and education to staff and the public on environmental health issues.
- Conduct investigations and inspections to identify and address environmental health hazards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline.
- A Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).
- Current valid BC Driver's License.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
