Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Federated Co-operatives Limited. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in preparing period and year-end financial statements, maintaining supporting schedules, and assisting with budget preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including fixed asset subledgers and prepaid schedules.
  • Assist with budget preparation and analysis, identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Complete corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Accounting Supervisor and other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration with a major in accounting.
  • 0-1 year of financial statement preparation experience, or 2-3 years of experience with a two-year business diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
