Position Title: Kids Club, Team Leader

Location: YMCA of Greater Vancouver

Employment Type: Temporary, Full-Time, 35 hours/week

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-9:00am & 2:30pm-6:00pm + administrative duties

Compensation: $24.82 per hour + Benefits

Reporting To: Manager, Healthy Child Development

Overview:

The YMCA is seeking passionate individuals who are enthusiastic about working with children and families. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for guiding a team of Kids Club Activity Leaders and volunteers, fostering an environment of growth and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate engaging indoor and outdoor activities for children aged 5 – 12
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to staff and volunteers
  • Offer continuous coaching and development opportunities for team members
  • Develop and execute child-centered programming
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks such as payroll and budget management
  • Ensure active supervision to guarantee the safety and well-being of children
  • Prepare nutritious snacks for children
  • Foster positive interactions and assist children in resolving conflicts
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at all times
  • Uphold the health and safety standards for children in your care

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 19 years
  • Experience in working or volunteering with children
  • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role
  • Emergency First Aid & CPR certification (can be obtained within 90 days of employment)
  • Training related to child development is preferred; however, the YMCA offers training for those without prior experience
  • Successful candidates must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search
