Position Overview
The Construction Site Supervisor will take charge of all on-site operations during the establishment of a new greenfield industrial processing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the project adheres to its timeline, budget, design specifications, and Ausenco's objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the site to ensure alignment with project plans, ensuring that skilled personnel are available as needed to complete construction activities.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety while consistently meeting construction deadlines.
- Provide direct management and guidance to a small team of trade supervisors and engineering support staff throughout the construction phase.
- Administer the construction work and subcontractors in line with the projected 24-month timeline and budgetary constraints.
- Ensure rigorous quality assurance and testing protocols are followed for the project.
- Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with client representatives and internal project managers.
- Effectively manage industrial relations matters to prevent escalation.
- Act as a vital support to the Project Manager as part of the Project Leadership Team.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive construction experience with a minimum of several years in supervising large-scale, multi-disciplinary industrial projects from inception to commissioning.
- Prior experience in general contracting roles is essential.
- Strong knowledge of civil earthworks, including rock excavation and large-diameter underground process piping.
- Experience in inspecting large-scale foundation formwork, reinforcing steel, and rock anchors.
- Proficient in overseeing multi-storey steel installations and elevated equipment rigging.
- Supervise the installation of process piping systems, equipment, pumps, tanks, and controls.
- Review electrical distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, and cable trays.
- Experience in the commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Background in contracting, including resource and equipment management.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively address site challenges with contractors and engineers.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Highly organized with effective communication skills.
