About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Point West Living Heritage House. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medications: Safely and accurately administer medications to patients, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor Respiratory and IV Therapy: Continuously monitor patients' respiratory and IV therapy, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal care.
  • Provide Safety and Health Education: Educate patients and their families on safety and health practices, promoting healthy habits and disease prevention.
  • Nursing Services: Provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly monitor patients' progress, evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions and consulting with the healthcare team as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Work Setting: Willing to relocate and work in a nursing home/home for the aged setting.
  • Certifications: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Area of Specialization: Geriatrics and Palliative care.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, physically demanding, and attention to detail.
