Server Analyst – Intermediate (IT Security Administration)

Job Location: Edmonton, AB

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Server Analyst to join our team at BQ INTERNATIONAL LTD. as an Intermediate Server Analyst. This role will be responsible for proactively maintaining and improving the server core infrastructure functionality and working within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements.

  1. Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution to ensure seamless server operations.
  2. Install, migrate, and upgrade hardware and operating systems to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Plan and implement software and hardware upgrades and migrations to maintain server efficiency.
  4. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices.
  5. Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software to ensure security and stability.
  6. Develop system-related procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  7. Provide cross-training and knowledge transfer to other server team members on relevant aspects of hardware and software support.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Adhere to established policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and practices.
  2. User account management, including creations, maintenance, and deletions for access to network resources.
  3. Maintenance of Exchange email resources, including mailboxes, distribution groups, and Global Address List updates.
  4. Implement and maintain user security and folder permissions.
  5. Provide ad-hoc reporting of security and access-related activities.
  6. Manage security group membership to provide access to files and folders for network applications and shared data.
  7. File and folder management, including moves, restructuring, and permission setting.
  8. Respond and resolve customer incidents/service requests pertaining to Domain and Exchange administration.
  9. Participate in project work as required.
  10. Develop and modify domain and exchange administration documentation, processes, and guidelines.
  11. Assist in active directory cleanup as necessary.
