About the Organization:

The YMCA is recognized as the largest not-for-profit child care provider in Canada, with the YMCA of Northern BC being the foremost provider in the northern region, catering to various communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct high-volume recruitment within strict timelines, which includes crafting and updating job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, coordinating and leading interviews, making or facilitating hiring decisions, preparing offer letters and hiring documentation, extending job offers, and managing all new hire paperwork and communications. Establish and nurture trusting relationships with hiring managers to comprehend and support their immediate and future recruitment needs. Maintain secure and confidential personnel files for employees. Perform reference checks for prospective candidates via phone or email. Participate in career fairs and employment events to promote the organization and highlight current job openings. Adhere to all relevant policies and regulations, including the Employment Standards Act, BC Human Rights Code, YMCA policies and procedures, and other applicable employment laws. Collaborate with the Manager of Childcare Recruitment & Belonging to assist with practicum placements and education grant applications. Assist with immigration documentation processes, including but not limited to BC PNP and LMIAs. Ensure confidentiality of information related to the center, children, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications:

A university degree in Business Administration, Management, or Human Resources is preferred. Experience in recruiting and hiring international talent utilizing LMIA's and BC PNP's is advantageous. A motivated self-starter with effective time management skills and the ability to work independently. Flexibility to work a varied schedule to accommodate events and candidate needs. Strong customer service skills and cultural awareness. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search are required. Three professional references that meet satisfactory standards. A valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
