Fire Safety Modeling Specialist

We are seeking a knowledgeable Fire Safety Modeling Specialist who embraces a variety of challenges and possesses a proactive mindset, a desire for professional growth, and outstanding communication abilities. The main objective of this role is to deliver egress and fire modeling solutions across multiple projects. This includes generating detailed reports and technical documentation to support analyses while working collaboratively with project teams, clients, and relevant regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement egress and fire modeling solutions for diverse projects.
- Oversee small to medium-sized projects, ensuring the timely delivery of project outcomes, schedules, and administrative tasks.
- Engage with both internal and external teams for effective project-related communication and deliverables.
- Interact with clients and regulatory authorities regarding compliance strategies and fire performance designs through comprehensive reports, technical documentation, presentations, and expert opinions.
- Conduct site evaluations and participate in project meetings.
- Review design drawings for compliance with codes and identify fire and life safety systems.
- Prepare project proposals and cost estimates, including research, cost calculations, and understanding client needs.
- Create code compliance reports and other technical documents based on project specifications.
- Advance and support fire performance initiatives within the organization.
- Deliver training on fire modeling and egress modeling to team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science, ideally in a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, with a strong background in fire and egress modeling projects, knowledge of fire and building codes, and experience mentoring junior staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant fire modeling software, including Fire Dynamics Simulator and Pathfinder.
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong command of Word and Excel; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus.
The salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $160,000 CAD, contingent on experience and qualifications. The compensation package includes performance-based bonuses and a relocation allowance if applicable.
